Following his escape, the Hoshiarpur Police has been continuously conducting search operations to catch him. The police have arrested a person named Jaswinder Singh Pangli, an NRI, who is said to be a resident of Jagatpur Jatta village near Fagwada. This is the first arrest made by Punjab Police since Amritpal's escape from Maranaia village. It is also learned that the police have taken several other people into custody in this case and are conducting a thorough investigation on them. They have also found some crucial evidence against Amritpal Singh and his accomplice Pappal Preet Singh, who also fled from Maranaia village. ccording to the information, the police could make some big revelations in the coming days. It is also reported that this entire case is being linked to a drug-related gathering that took place in Jagatpur Jatta village, and whoever was present at that gathering is being continuously questioned by the police. Amritpal Singh and his accomplice Papalpreet Singh had fled from Maranaia village around 8:00 pm on March 28. Meanwhile, the failure to nab Amritpal Singh even after 22 days has raised questions over the credibility of the Punjab Police. The separatist leader’s escape a second time on March 28 further made matters worse for the Punjab Police.
