Panic gripped parts of Odisha’s Rourkela after a small private aircraft made an emergency crash landing on Saturday, leaving several people injured. Fortunately, all those on board survived, and no fatalities have been reported.

The incident involved a nine-seater private aircraft operating on a short domestic route. The plane encountered technical trouble while approaching Rourkela and was forced to land in an open area near Jalda village, around 10 kilometres from the city.

According to officials, there were six people on board, including passengers and crew members. All sustained minor injuries and were immediately rescued by local residents and emergency teams. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals, where doctors confirmed their condition to be stable.

Fire services, police, and airport authorities rushed to the spot soon after the crash landing to secure the area and prevent any further danger. Eyewitnesses said the aircraft descended rapidly before hitting the ground, causing fear among people in the vicinity.

State officials stated that the situation could have been far worse, but the pilot’s timely action helped avoid a major tragedy. The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed, and a detailed investigation has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the emergency landing.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over safety checks and technical preparedness of small aircraft operating regional flights. Authorities have assured that all necessary safety protocols will be reviewed following the investigation.
