Kangana Ranaut Reacts to Shiv Sena’s BMC Defeat, Calls Outcome ‘Personal Victory’

Actor and BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has reacted strongly to the recent Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election results, in which the BJP emerged as the single largest party, ending decades of Shiv Sena dominance in Mumbai.

Ranaut, who has had a longstanding dispute with the previous Shiv Sena-led civic administration over the demolition of her office annex in Mumbai, described the outcome as a personal vindication. “Those who demolished my house, threatened me, and tried to drive me away from Maharashtra have now seen the result they deserved,” she said.

She congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and the BJP leadership for what she called a decisive victory delivered by the people of Maharashtra. Ranaut also criticized what she termed the “bullies, nepotism mafias, and women-haters” associated with the previous administration.

The BMC elections saw the BJP making significant gains, reshaping Mumbai’s political landscape and breaking the long-standing hold of the Shiv Sena-led alliance. Ranaut’s comments underscore the intersection of her political career and personal experiences with civic authorities, highlighting the personal dimensions behind her public political statements.

Political analysts say such reactions from high-profile leaders often reflect the broader sentiment within the party and its supporters, reinforcing the BJP’s narrative of asserting authority in Maharashtra’s key urban centers.
