Updates on the Rahul Gandhi defamation case from March 28: The leaders of the opposition wore black in protest of Gandhi's "illegal exclusion" from the House; according to the BJP, a dissatisfied Congress is considering using black magic. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh Tuesday announced that the ‘Loktantra Bachao Mashaal Shanti’ march, or the ‘Save Democracy’ march will begin from Red Fort at 7 pm on Tuesday. All Congress MPs and leaders will participate in the march that will culminate at Town Hall in New Delhi. Meanwhile, a day after Rahul Gandhi was served a notice to vacate his official residence within 30 days, the Congress leader agreed to do so. Slamming the Centre over the notice, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge said: “They will do everything to weaken him (Rahul Gandhi). He can go live with his mother or he can come to me, I will vacate one for him. I condemn this attitude of the government to threaten, scare and humiliate.” Cutting across party lines, the Opposition on Monday continued to rally around Rahul, with even the Trinamool Congress (TMC), in a rare display of unity. The TMC MPs attended a meeting of Opposition parties called by Congress president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and also participated in the protest later. The Opposition leaders wore black in protest against the Gandhi’s “illegal disqualification” from the House.
