The driver of an ATM cash van has gone missing in Bihar's Patna's Danka Imli area, along with more than Rs 1.5 crore that was inside the vehicle. Patna Police said the driver, Suraj Kumar, was left alone inside the vehicle while a guard and other staff member had gone inside the ICICI bank in Danka Imli. According to the police, the vehicle was parked some distance away from the bank. The cash van has been recovered around a kilometre away from where it was initially parked. The lock of the safe has been broken and the driver is currently missing. Police are now viewing nearby CCTV footage to catch the driver and a forensic team reached the spot to collect evidence. HOW DID THE DRIVER GET AWAY? The driver of the vehicle must have used a hammer to break open the safe and take the money, said police. He was accompanied by several people who were on their way to withdraw money from a bank and deposit it in the ATM. Ravi Rai, the auditor of Securevalue company, told India Today that they were on their way to deposit money in the ICICI bank ATM at Danka Imli when the incident took place. He added that they had also withdrawn cash from a bank and were to deposit the amount, which was more than Rs 1.5 crore, in two ATMs. Ravi Rai told the police that Securevalue company's gunman Subhash Yadav, auditor Amresh Singh and other two employees, Sonu Kumar and Dilip Kumar, were together while the driver was left alone in the vehicle. After the driver went missing, the company's employees informed the Alamganj Police. The company's auditor, gunman and the two employees involved in the incident have been detained by the police and were questioned. Police later found the cash van abandoned near the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital.
